Splitting rental payments across two LLCs with Stripe subscriptions
A Stripe payment rebuild that took a rentals platform from one billing LLC to two—each running subscriptions across many properties—on a single Hotwire Native codebase.
The challenge
Shiloh Rentals had outgrown a single payment entity. Every transaction flowed through one company LLC, but the business needed to bill across two separate LLCs—each owning many properties—without bolting on a second, parallel payment stack or disrupting the live web and mobile apps.
What we built
We refactored the Stripe payment setup to support two payment-enabled LLCs on a subscription model, with each company managing many properties under its own billing. The work threaded through a full-stack Rails application built on Hotwire and Hotwire Native, so a single codebase keeps powering the web app, the Android app in the Play Store, and the iOS app in the App Store.
The outcome
Payments now run cleanly across two LLCs from one platform—each company bills its properties via Stripe subscriptions—while the rebuild preserved the single Rails + Hotwire Native codebase serving web, iOS, and Android.
